Background
Farmers Voice Africa (FAVOA) is a duly registered organisation with the Malawian government, and accredited by CONGOMA. Its main objective is to foster change in the livelihoods of the farmers and their socio-economic cooperation. FAVOA partners with all stakeholders who advocate for farmers’ productivity and youths’ efficiency in developmental projects, integration and Agri-business.
In order to effectively and excellently achieve its intended objectives, a rare opportunity has risen for vibrant youths across all corners of Malawi to give back to Malawian society. These youths will be part of a greater change in the wellbeing of all farmers through Volunteerism.
Take note that this is not full time volunteership, hence those working are equally encouraged as long as they can be freeing themselves to perform duties and responsibilities for FAVOA.

- FAVOA District Representatives (FDRs) (112 posts, 4 per District, hence indicate your preferred district in your letter)
Position Summary
Reporting to Regional Coordinators, and in close coordination with the Secretariat team. The Volunteers will be representatives of FAVOA when implementing different projects, conducting quality verification exercises and capacity building trainings, etc.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in mobilisation of farmers
- Assist in advising Regional Coordinators on project amendments
- Participate in carrying out research on agricultural issues pertinent to the operation and success of the agricultural sector
- Participate in formulation of policies and market information and services of FAVOA
- Organise capacity building trainings and produce management seminars
- Assist in formulation of FAVOA’s clubs and zones
Skills and Qualifications

A minimum of a diploma in any field. Those with Bachelor’s Degree will have added advantage

Ability to work in multicultural areas. Those with experience in community mobilisation and community development will have a plus.

Fluent in English plus any Malawian language(s).

Public Relations Officer (PRO) (1 post)
Position Summary
This position will be providing guidance on programming and FAVOA strategy and activity implementation in the country including strategic use of media, interpersonal communication and dialogue, and community mobilisation. The PRO will ensure effective communication with shareholders, media and the public.
Duties and Responsibilities

Designing public relations policies and campaigns

Preparing press releases, keynote speeches and promotional material

Maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders, media and the public

Write, edit and update promotional materials (magazines, brochures, videos, social media posts )

Formulate and dispense press releases

Pursue opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising

Address enquiries from the media and other parties.

Track media coverage and follow industry trends
Skills, Qualifications and Requirements

A minimum of a Diploma in the following disciplines: Public Relations, Journalism, Communication, Languages or any related field. Bachelor’s Degree in any of these will be an advantage.

4. Assistant Accounting Manager (AAM)
Job Description of AAM.
The Assistant Accounting Manager will help overseeing the management and reporting of FAVOA’s finances. The AAM will have a powerful effect on the public’s awareness, confidence and assurance in the non-profit as a whole. He/she will be assessing financial risks and whether and how such risks should be dealt with.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ability to translate financial concepts and information for board members
- Facilitating and encouraging the board’s strategic thinking about the short and long term financially vitality
- Knowledge and understanding of the organisation’s financial reports and important financial ratios
- Completing required financial reporting forms
- Preparing and facilitating the preparation of an annual budget.
- Monitoring and comparing the actual revenues and expenses incurred against the budget
- Reconciling bank statements and managing cash flow
Skills, Qualifications and Requirements
- A minimum of a Diploma in Accounting or any other related field. Those with a Bachelor’s Degree will have a plus.
